Ruthild Foth

Following World War II, Mennonite Central Committee distributed Christmas bundles, prepared by Mennonite churches in North America, to families in need in Europe. The bundles, wrapped in bath towels, included soap, other small items, and clothing, sorted by age and gender so they could go to be delivered appropriately. Often the bundles included a letter from the person who had prepared the bundle. Ruthild developed a life-long relationship with the woman who prepared the bundle she received as a seven-year old girl in Germany.
